Evaluation: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Shot Types.
The shot types selected are often designed in order for the audience
to follow the narrative of the film through the eyes of the main characters. Typical
chick flick shot types includes two shots to show personal relationships
between characters, close ups to show feelings and portrayed by the actors and
a rage of establishing shots. Low angle
shots are used to make the characters appear strong and powerful. We aimed to uses as many of these shot types
as possible in order to make the genre of our film opening clear.

This shot was filmed so that the back ground was in clear focus in order for the setting to be established (in front of school gates). This goes against the forms of our chosen genre as you would expect the characters to be the main focal point of each shot throughout but in contrast, this does portray the character as rebellious and dangerous.
Her appearance creates juxtaposition with the peaceful back drop.
Evaluation: What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
My group have chosen Universal
Pictures as our distributor. We have chosen them because Universal
Pictures are a very well known American film company who are popular for distributing large budget
films. They are also known
for they’re influence on
British cinema and partnership between Universal Vivendi and Working Title. They have
produced box office hits like: 'Bridget Jones’ Dairy‘ and 'Bridesmaids' . We have aimed to
achieved this level of quality in the film opening we have created by using the
best quality equipment that were available to us with little to no budget.
Evaluation: Who would be the audience for your media product?
The targeted audience for our opening would be girls aged between 12 and 18. I believe as though a more western target audience would find it easier to relate to the characters because of the stereotypes portrayed in the narrative. Because of the different personality traits of each character, girls from various different social backgrounds will feel that they are able to relate to at least one of the characters and this connection in the first two minutes of the film will make them keen to watch on.

Age Rating.
In order to ensure that I am able to excess all of my audience, I think it would be best if my film would be a certificate 12. Although there are scenes of implied smoking and some anti-social behaviour therefore I think that our final product should be a 12A making it up the the child's carer weather to let the child watch the film, particularly if they are extremely impressionable.
